The BP oil blow out in 2010  at  Deepwater Horizon  is considered the largest marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry. This painting  offers a reflection on the plight of magnificent and now endangered  sperm whale  as a consequence of the oil spill. The sperm whale is represented covered in oil sheen and water quality has turned milky with iridescent sheens  over the surface.
