Na Immramí - The Voyagers
Na Immramí /The Voyagers, Oil on

Travelling through the hinterlands of this old Country it often feels like the old back roads lead from nowhere to nowhere. Even where signposts exist, they abandon you after the first one and leave you to guess what to do at the next crossroads.
Maps too are not infallible, they don’t always bring you where you thought you wanted to go, and then there are those unnamed gaps between places – like the white space between words or a pause in a sentence that gives meaning to the words spoken.
In the in-between, the midair of spaces, places and encounters it seems to me we enter a stargate - an interdimensional portal to other realms of our experience.

In the in-between is where we meet with a world soaked through with intelligent energy that means to communicate with us beyond the man-made maps, agendas, plans and signposts - a truer kind of direction.
If we can allow ourselves to rest on this subtle current as it weaves in-between the here and there of our lives, it will surely lead us toward the crystalline shores of those faithful voyagers who have gone before.
