Colonial for History / Stair do Coilíneachta, is a photographic travelogue of Journeys throughout Ireland. This series of Images concerns itself with an exploration of the dialectics of inside and outside, of dominated and appropriated space in the context of the Irish landscape. Digital colour enhancement is used as an allegory to shift the terms of global reference. The natural Irish landscape is appropriated and positioned outside of itself, no longer distinctive in its greenness; its land is equatorially re-assigned. The landscape viewed as the negative object, becomes a signifier of places other than itself.
